New Moon

Just testing out some exposure stuff with the moon.

New Moon.

This is about as new as a moon can get. It was too cloudy two days ago when the REAL new moon happened. Here's a 1280x1024 version for your desktop wallpaper enjoyment.

Moon on a wire.
The reflection is either from the lens or the filter. I think those are actually stars, not CCD dust...

Moon Motion.
Looks almost like a comet moving along the sky. This is actually one very good reason why I haven't sold my film Nikon yet. Film handles night photography -- long exposure photography specifically, MUCH much better. Here's my attempt at removing the power lines.

Remembering Freedom

Took the boy fishing today. He didn't catch anything, and all I caught was a few pictures of a bald eagle flying overhead across the lake. This is probably the best shot. Here's a full-sized version.

So, with this, I salute all those who have sacrificed their lives for my freedom.
